Picnic.

I love going to picnics. My school,Pt England is going to have it’s start of the year picnic. The Pt England reserve is the place that we all ways have it, there’s even a beach by it. Me and my friends have been waiting for the picnic to come and now it’s here.

The weather didn’t really look like it was going to be a sunny day, there was some little showers of rain then it started to clear up a bit and finally the sun came out from the clouds. I cheered with happiness. Then everyone started to walk down to the reserve, it only takes five minutes to get there so that was good for me.

When we got there we had to sit down on the soggy grass it wasn’t really what I wanted to do but we had to. Mr Burt started telling us the safety rules and where everything was. After we knew all the rules we could go and play, lots of kids screamed with excitement. I started playing Softball, because I wanted to practise some skills because I’m in the school boys Softball team.

We were playing against the year 7 girls Softball team they weren’t that good. Their pitcher pitched some very slow balls so we hit them far and high it was really fun. But then they started to get some strikes on us and then before you know it, it was side away. It was our turn to field. Our team were having a hard time getting our pitches right and our catching  was very off.

I had played Softball for about four hours and it was getting kind of boring, so I had some lunch and then went for a walk on the beach to make clay bombs with my two mates Darius and Kingston. Making clay bombs is really easy. You have to find a rock that has of clay on it and take a little of it and roll it into a ball. Dipping it in water makes it get really sticky so it will be good for the final stage putting sand over it.

Then we had to go back to school to get ready to go home. At the end of the day I was really exhausted and I wanted to have a rest at home.I enjoyed the picnic and I can’t wait until we have another one.

  1. Hi Waata,
Pt England reserve sounds like a wonderful place to have your school picnic at :) The clay bombs sound interesting, thanks for explaining how to make it. I look forward to more of your updates.
    God bless xox
