My feelings about Next Year

I reckon that next year will be just the same as this year. Being a year eight is going to be the same as this year. I hope that next year will be better for me I’ve gotten in trouble way to much this year but next year I will do my best not to do bad things. I feel happy about this year even though I had some some up’s and downs. I wish that I could go back to year four when I was in room twelve when I was with all my mates.

Friends

Me and my mates are not the naughtiest kids in the school but most of the teachers think so. We just like to have fun and make people laugh but we always get caught. We like to play jokes on teachers and people but they like to take it serious and send us to Mr Burt. Our clan name the NZ_CLAN. They don’t know how to take a joke but it’s algud. Hopefully we will be in the same class but I think that they will split us up next year.

My Future Carrer

I want my future career to be making games. I think that I am very good at shooting games and adventure types of games like Call Of Duty and Uncharted. I would like to work for a very big company like sony, Treyarch or Infinity Ward. They make lots of cool game, Sony owns playstation and they are a multi billionaire company. I want to finish school then go to university and complete a degree in computer science and computer program.

I know that the journey is going to be hard but I will try my hardest to do my best. The thing that I don’t want to do is study it takes lots of time out of my day. I wish that I could do my studies but it would be fun and easy. I want to have a good job that pays lots but it’s not all about the money.  But I need some money though.  I want to have the latest skyline’s and the fastest WRX’s

Term 4 Reflection

Term four has been the coolest term of this whole year. It was one of the most laidback terms ever. All the other terms have been hard work. This term is about our toy stories. What we have to do is invent a toy that is easy to make. I am making a slingshot for my little brother he likes to play with shooting things and loves to watch shooting movies. My slingshot is going to be the best one ever.

I wanted this term to be about war. I really like learning about war and watching war movies. Even though war is not good I like the guns and gruesome scenes. It gives me an adrenaline rush and makes me more interested in it. The best movie that I’ve seen is Saving Private Ryan it is the most epic movie ever. That is the end of my reflection.

Netbook Reflection 2012

I’ve had my netbook for nearly two years and I am very happy with my netbook. When I first got my netbook I was very excited and happy. It has been about seventeen or eighteen months since my school got netbooks, and I still feel the same way towards my netbook. Everyday I go on my netbook it is convenient for surfing the web because it is way faster then on a computer.

The internet connection was excellent when netbooks first got established, but when more kids started to connect to the wireless it started to drop. Now it starts to lag and the connection usually drops It is really annoying but we have to use it anyways. My only wish is that it doesn't lag and drop connection anymore. If that didn’t happen it would be the best connection ever. Its good at times though.

I love my netbook it is my precious I have accidently dropped it a few times. But it hasn’t done that much damage to my netbook but it has left a few cracks in my netbook but it is alright. My netbook is the best of them all it is fast like a cheetah. It has lasted me for two years and is still going hard.

Minister Of Education

Last week the Minister Of Education came to school. Her name is Hekia Parata she is from the East Coast and is a Maori. She comes from a big family who likes to give back to their community. She was coming to our school to start a program that helps Pacific Islanders to get better education. Because the education results that Maori and Pacific Islanders are getting is worse than other cultures.

I had to present a Maori Mihi to Hekia Parata. I was really nervous. I didn’t even want to say it. I was praying that I wouldn’t get mucked up with my words. I started off nice and smooth the words were just flowing out of and before I knew it, I was finished. I went back to my seat and felt a big relief leaving my body. I was really happy that I didn’t get the words wrong.

Maniakalani Festival

For four years running our cluster Tamaki has a annual year film festival. We went to Hoyts to watch our movies on the extreme screen. We had to pay two dollars each for the bus. On the bus we raped some Afroman songs and some other ones. When we got there I started running around but then I got in trouble.

When we walked into Sylvia Park we had to walk up the stairs because the public were using the escalators. We were going to the extreme screen the biggest screen in the southern hemisphere. The movies last about five minutes each. so the whole thing was bound to be about an hour long. We went at 1:30Pm and arrived at 1:45Pm so would leave at about 3:00Pm.

All the movies were great but some were just plain boring. The most creative movie was probably Room 18’s movie. They were just using their eyes to say hello. But the way that they were doing it was funny. There are many more interesting movies just CLICK ON ME

Athletics Recount

I was waiting for athletics for ages. I was ready to verse my friends and try to beat them. I first activity was Sprints. Me and my three mates Ahsin,Crusader and Kingston have the biggest rivalry ever we’ve had beefs in Sprints since we were year three. Last year my mate Crusader but this year I thought that I would definitely win. But to my surprise my mates wanted to jog I was shocked and disappointed.

The next activity that my age group that we were doing was discus. Discus is dumb because its long and boring. I also suck at it too. It was my turn and I was nervous because I knew that, I was going to do a epic fail. It actually wasn’t that bad but I didn’t even make it into the top three. My mate Raenan came first last year but he got dream shattered, he also didn’t make it into the top three.

The Love Story

-Magical land
-Wet and windy
- Running away from the evil queen
-Boy and Girl
-Enchanted Forest
-They stole the evil queen’s favourite diamond

Once Upon a time in the magical land of Panmure known to most as Pam city. There was a poor man and a beautiful princess, their names were James and Megan. James was a peasant he lived in a small farm with his family. On the other hand was Princess Megan she was the most beautiful lady in the land but was kept under secret by her evil step mother Queen Respusha.

James had always dreamed of marrying the princess. So he thought of a plan. There was going to be a annual ball celebrating the thirty year reign of the queen. He planned to work and earn one hundred shillings so he could pay for a suit to win over the princess. He only had one month to get the money so he worked as hard as he could. After four weeks he got all the money he needed so he got his suit and went to the ball

When he laid eyes on the princess he was in awe. That night he asked her for a dance and she said “yes” because she secretly liked him. He asked her “Come with me let’s explore the world” She was shocked but finally said “yes”. They sneaked out of the kingdom and ran as fast as the could. All over the little towns they could see wanted signs but they kept going. The queen was looking all over her land to find them but she couldn’t so she just gave up.

Technology Reflection

Every Tuesday the year seven’s have technology at Tamaki College. My first tech group that I was in was food technology it was the best ever. We made some of the best cookies ever. The thing that I didn’t like about food tech was when we had to do the dishes and clean our workspaces that was boring.

The next tech group that I was in was Electronics. At first I thought that Electronics was gonna be cool but when I got there it was one of the most boringest things ever. Mr Malhotra the instructor talked for for ages. We hardly even got anything started because he talked too much. After Electronics I was off to Hard Materials technology. I was really looking forward to Hard materials.

I am now in hard materials. The teacher is Mr Grundy he is a very grumpy man. I like working with wood and building things. The only thing that I don’t like about hard materials is if we don’t put our stools in he takes them away and we have to stand for the whole day. I am trying to make me a ship, it is very challenging trying to get all the measurements right.

Term 3 Reflection

Term 3 has been a very cool term. Go For Gold was our topic for this term  This term has been all about the Olympics. I wanted this term to be about sports not Olympics. But Olympics is algud at least we do athletics and stuff. We had our Olympics day last week and it was cool. The activities that we did wasn’t like the olympics which was pretty dumb. At the end of the day it was cool.

I wish that next term will be about sports and all the things that boys like. Hopefully we will learn about Rugby and league. The dumbest thing that we would learn about would be about nature. It would be one of the most boring things ever. I don’t really care about the environment but pollution is bad. I also think that global warming will never happen.

Yr 7&8 Rugby Team vs Kedgley Intermediate Part 1

It was game day we were versing Kedgley Intermediate. I was really keen to play. The weather was perfect for a rugby match.  Kedgley is from the dirty south side we knew they were going to be huge so we had to work on our tackling. We did a few drills to get our body ready for the big game. It was nearly game time. We would have to tackle them around the ankles to get them down.

Finally Kedgley had arrived and they were huge I was kind of scared. But then I knew that they would get tired fast and we will have lots of energy. I was named as reserve so I started off on the bench. We kicked-off to them and straight away Kaiden got injured so I went on. I was playing as lock which is behind the props in the scrum. I had to run to every ruck to secure the ball.

What If I Could Back In Time????

If I could go back in time I would go to the time when the All Blacks lost the 2007 World Cup quarter finals. I would tell Richie McCaw that there is going to be a set move that is as fast as a cheetah. He probably won’t believe me but I’ll make him believe. I’ll also tell him it’s going to be a forward pass. The All Blacks will be prepared for the set move after I tell him.

I’ll go back to the time before my Grandad died. Then I would spend some valuable time with him before he dies. He died when I was one so I’ll just say I’m another person. I will tell him that he is going to die soon and that he should prepare for it. We will go to the beach and relax. I’ll go to the time of Jesus after that.

I’ll go back to the time of Jesus and see if he was real or not. I’d watch all the things that he does and take photo’s of them then chuck them on Facebook. I’d meet him and all of his disciples and I will change the course of history while I’m there. When he die’s on the cross i’ll watch him and start crying.

What If I had a Superpower

My superpower would be to be able to put thoughts in people’s minds and be able to fly. I would give lots of money to my friends and family. Then I would blow up Australia because it’s New Zealand’s arch enemy. Then my arch enemy James will come to stop me but then I will blow him up. After blowing up Australia I’ll go fly to the moon.

I would build me a house on the moon and stay there for one year. On the moon I’ll remove the American flag and put the New Zealand flag on it. Then draw a New Zealand flag all over the moon so when it’s night time the whole world can see New Zealand. I’ll go to Pluto and blow it up because people don’t think it’s a planet so I’ll blow it up too.

If I was a Billionaire?

If I was a billionaire I would buy me lots of cars and houses. Then I would donate some money to my church and charity. I would buy me a batch in Fiji so when I want to relax I’d go to Fiji with my family. I would make a investment into Wairwera hot springs so I can gross a bit of money from it.

Then I would travel the world with my girlfriend Kim Kardashian she is beautiful as a flower. The first place that we will go to is Paris the city of fashion and love. I would buy her lots of beautiful clothes. After France we will go to New York the city that never sleeps. We will meet the New York Giant’s and watch one of their home games.  Disneyland will be the next destination for us she’ll be freaked out.

Mini-Olympics

Today the senior school had a mini-olympics it was the most boring thing ever. The weather was horrible so we had to have all the activities inside which was boring. The activities that we did was cyber coaching, obstacle course, relay races, SingStar, music and watch movies in the I.C.T with Mrs Tele’a. I was looking forward to SingStar because I’m the best at it.

The first activity that we did was cyber coaching. I was kind of excited about cyber coaching because I thought it was going to be on computers. But much to my surprise it was jump jam, BORING! A man was the instructor and he was doing girl moves. Me and my mates were laughing so we started doing the moves. We were only there for fifteen minutes and then we went to the obstacle course.

The rest of the activities that we did were the Obstacle Course and got to music. Unfortunately I didn’t get to go to SingStar I was really looking forward to doing it. This mini-olympics was pretty boring hopefully the next mini-olympics that we will do will be outside. I really hope we have another mini-olympics.

Making Choices

For the last few weeks our class, room 21 went out to learn things at the Life Education van. The thing I found most interested in, or what I have learnt was making the right choice for what goes in my body to keep myself nice and healthy. The thing I learnt that can damage your body was smoking and drinking alcohol. Did you know that cigarettes has over 4000 chemicals in it and it can kill you.

Making Choices can be one of the most hardest thing to do. Peer Pressure is when people pressure you to make a decision that is very pressuring. One of the most things that people pressure you about is smoking. Lots of people smoke because they think that it is cool but it ain’t. Thousands of chemicals are in one cigarette. Do you know? That if you smoke your lungs will become blacker than night.

Cross Country

I was really nervous about this race. I wanted to beat my friends Ahsin, Crusader Kingston and Kingston Puru. They all really wanted to beat me so I wanted to beat them. We’ve always had a rivalry between each other but this year we had the biggest rivalry ever. I had practised this whole year for this race. I was motivated to win. I really wanted to win.

Mr Burt said “READY SET GO”. I jogged with my friends. We tried to keep up with the leading pack but we couldn't. It was really embarrassing coming in the last pack while everyone was looking, but I just keep going. Then I got to the mud. It was horrible, my shoes were covered in mud. As I was running I was getting tired because the mud was weighing me down but I just kept going.

As my friends and I went through the bush walk we started walking. I wanted to run but they said “walk”. Then we got to the first bridge and we started running. I found it a lot easier running through the bush walk. But there were lots of slippery places in there. You had to be careful. We started walking because we were tired and then we caught up to some of the 12 year old girls.

They were in our way so we told them to move but they wouldn’t. So we overtook them and we boosted it from them. We got to the point England reserve where we had to do the last lap around it before we head back to school to finish the race. I was just about to jog all around it before my mates said “walk man”. I was getting angry because we were taking long to walk the reserve. We finished the race and I was happy that I did it.

Usain Bolt

Usain Bolt is a living legend. He has broken records that seemed impossible to break. He is fast as lightning hence the name Bolt. He is a beast at the 100 m and 200 metre sprint. He does long and powerful strides which make him go fast. His speed and agility is very amazing. As he crosses the finishing line he strikes a pose.

In 2008 he broke the world record in the 100 metre sprint in a time of 9.69 seconds. Everyone was astonished with his amazing speed. Asafa Powell used to be the fastest man in the world until Usain Bolt came and beat Asafa Powell. The old world record was 9.74 by Asafa Powell but then Usain Bolt beat it.

In this years olympics he won all his heats in the 100m and 200m sprints. Then he got to the 100m finals where he versed his arch enemies Yohan Blake and Tyson Gay. Yohan Blake is his fastest opponent he is very fast. The 100m final was very exciting. When they started the race they were all together in one bunch until the last 30 metres where he pulled away from the bunch.

Olympic Message

The Olympic message is “The most important thing about the Olympic Games is not to win, but to take part...just as the most important thing in life is not the triumph, but the struggle”. Baron Pierre de Coubertin - Founder of the Modern Olympics said these famous words. The Olympic message has probably inspired lots of athletes to excel in their sports and strive their hardest to win.  I agree with this statement because life isn’t about winning it’s about having fun and participating.

I think that the Olympic message means that it’s not all about winning it's about participating and having fun. I also think that you have to learn from your struggles so you don’t have to go through anymore hard times. Athletes have to eat the right food (diet) and train really hard. They have to give up spending time with their family to train. I think that this would be quite a hard thing to do. They would need to have a positive attitude so that they can win. They need to have the right mindset.

The Olympic message has probably inspired lots of athletes to excel in their sports and strive their hardest to win.  I agree with this statement because life isn’t about winning it’s about having fun and participating.

5. The audience would’ve applauded her with this win.

London Olympics

We have just watched a video about the London Olympics. It looks like it is going to be huge. Some of the venues where the Olympics are going to be held look sparkling and new. This year is going to be the 30th Olympics. The first ever Olympics were held in Ancient Greece. According to legend, the Olympics were made to praise the Greek god Zeus. The games were very lethal in those days.

Sprints are my favourite sport in the Olympics. I am going to have my eye on three people: Usain Bolt, Tyson Gay and Yohan Blake.  I think that Usain Bolt is going to win his races back to back but Tyson Gay and Yohan Blake are going to be close behind him. I am yet to see Usain Bolt’s full speed. Hopefully he smashes his record.

Most of the track and field races will be held in the famous Wembley Stadium. The teams will march through Wembley Stadium holding their countries flag. London has lots of famous places like the river Thames, Big Ben, the London Eye and Buckingham Palace. There are lots of historic and new places in London.

My favourite athlete has got to be Usain Bolt because he is the fastest man in the world. He’s definitely going to win his races. I think he is going to smash his record by a tenth of a second if he goes his fullest speed. The chances of New Zealand getting golds are very good we will definitely get medals in rowing and cycling.

My Special Place

My special place is my room. It’s one of the places that I feel safe at. I can go in my room and play the game. When I do silly stuff I can cry in my room. At night I can go on my netbook when i’m not supposed to be on it. My room is the best place in the world. It’s a room of relaxation and gamzation.

The best thing in my room is my Ps3, when I feel bored I go play the Ps3. Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 3 is the best game that I have. Modern Warfare 3 is the best game ever the graphics are the best in the world. I like playing it online it makes the game a whole lot fun when you play online.

I am going to base my artwork on the famous Vincent Van Gogh. He is famous for expressionism he uses colours to express himself . I like the way he paints because he uses colours that match the painting. The colours that I am going to use are yellow, green and blue. His paintings look just like a picture it looks very amazing.

P.E.P.A

This is the Highlights of P.E.P.A

Term 2 Reflection

Term 2 has been one of the stink terms ever. Our topic for this term was called art alive. Art isn’t one of my favourite subjects. Why have art in school isn’t that what art school is for. I’d rather study about space or sports. Going around to each class to learn about artist was pretty alright. I liked Van goghs paintings.

Hopefully term 3 will be a better term then this one. I would be really happy if we learnt about sport or space.  Sport would be one of the best ever topics to learn about. Rugby League is one of the best sports ever. Rugby Union is got to be my second favourite sport its just like Rugby League but it's a whole lot slower.

Term 2 has been stink hopefully term 3 would be better.

Hamiora By Waata

This painting is about a boy called Hamiora Haupapa, he comes from the tribe Ngati Whakaue. This was painted in 1901.  Charles Fredrick Goldie painted this while he was in Rotorua. Many of his family were subjects for Charles Goldies paintings. If this was my painting I would call it Maori Boy. The things that I recognize is the greenstone necklace and the flacke cloth. This photo reminds me of the movie Boy.

I hope that you become curious about the Maori People when you come and see our paintings. The Maori people are really important to New Zealand. Maoris are the native people of New Zealand. They battled the wild seas to get to New Zealand. This makes me wanna go find out about the Maori culture and what their traditions are.

My painting will be sold at the Art Gallery for Pt England School. The art gallery is gonna be from 9-7pm but on Friday its 9-3pm. Come and buy one of the fabulous paintings

Narrative of Iron Man

Iron Man looks like he is flying towards something.  He looks like he is ready to have a big fight. I think he is going to save some people from villains. It also looks like he is very staunch and strong. The blue energy surrounding his body looks very cool and bright. The suit of Iron man appears unbreakable.

Without the suit, Iron man is Tony Stark. He owns the famous company Stark industries. His company has made him a billionaire. He is also a playboy who gets lots of dates with chicks. He came up with the idea of Iron Man when he was captured in Afghanistan. A man told him about energy cores. That is how Iron man lives.  Each energy core can make Iron man live for about one hundred years.

Static Images

A static image is a image that lacks movement. I have noticed about this image that Jarryd Hayne has just broken the tackle of David Williams. A part of this photo is out of focus which makes Jarryd Hayne look way more detailed than the rest of the image. Jarryd Hayne looks like he is ready to score a great try.

Taonga Time

On fridays the year 7 and 8’s have Taonga time.  Its when we go to different teachers to learn and do different things like Science, sports, art, movie making and music. The group that I am in is the music group with Mr Jacobsen. I wasn’t looking forward to going to music I only had one mate in music and that was Dillion.

When we started to make beats in music I started to like music. Our task was that we would make a song using only beats, guitar loops and bass. I was getting really excited to make a song. I started off with a bit of bass then added some beats to the mix. Instead of using a guitar I used guitar synths. My song was started to sound really cool.

Once we had finished our song we had to put it in a movie showing photos of anything we wanted. I choose to show cars while my song was playing. I think that my song would go really well with all the cars. The car that I like most is a Holden, it sounds very loud and it’s very fast. The movie had to be seventeen seconds long.

That was the end of this week's Taonga Time I can’t wait until the next session.

AFL Lessons

For the last two weeks Kiwikick have came to teach us about  AFL. AFl is a very competitive game and you have to be very fit. Originally AFL is from Australia it is one of Australia's most played sports. You need a lot of skill in kicking and catching to be good at AFL. Sam was our instructor.

Our first skill that we were learning about was called the drop punt. You had to do this thing called laces away from faces it is when you put the laces on the ball away from your face. The other skill that we learnt was the hand pass. Its when you do a fist and hit the ball to the other person. If you do it wrong your hand will be very sore.

The first game that we played was Octopus but to tag people we had to do to do hand passes. Sam called a specific thing that people were wearing then they had to run. I was one of the first to get out Sam got me. Then I grabbed a ball so I could get some people out. I nearly got Junior out but I just missed.

Then our time at AFL had finished I just can’t wait until the next AFL

Pablo Picasso and Daniella Hulmes

We have to compare the two paintings called ‘The Weeping Woman’ and the painting ‘A lazy day in Paradise’. The artists of these paintings are Pablo Picasso and Daniella Hulme. Pablo Picasso’s style of painting is Cubism and Daniella Hulme’s style may be called Modern art.

‘The Weeping Woman’ is painted by the famous Pablo Picasso. Just by looking at this painting I could tell that this painting is very weird. It looks very different than most paintings because of Picasso’s style of cubism. It makes me feel scared because it’s ugly. I think that Picasso felt sad when he painted ‘The Weeping Woman’.

‘A lazy day in paradise’ is painted by Daniella Hulme. The style in this painting is called modern day painting. It looks like a lady that is lying down in a sunny bright day. I’ve noticed that the background looks like a bright blue sky. This makes me feel very lay back and happy. I think that Daniella Hulme’s felt very happy and lazy so she painted this painting.

The similarities of these two paintings is that the yellow is used in both of these paintings. Also in both of these paintings they are both women. There is many differences in both of these like that in ‘The Weeping Woman’ the lady looks very depressed and sad, while in the painting ‘A Lazy Day In Paradise’ the lady looks very happy and vibrant. ‘The Weeping Woman’ uses different colours

I like ‘The Weeping Woman’ but it makes me feel very depressed and sad. While the painting ‘A Lazy Day In Paradise’ makes me feel very happy and lazy.

Henri Matisse

-Henri Matisse was born on December 31, 1869 at Le Cateau-Cambresis in France.
-Henri was never interested in art while he was growing up.
-He liked to paint bright and dark colours.
-Henri Matisse died on November 3, 1954, at the age of 84.
-On one of his trips he met the Impressionist artist named John Russell.  He liked the way Russell used bright colours
-Matisse liked to paint bright and dark colours
-Matisse also liked other Impressionist painters like Claude Monet and Camellia Pissarro.
- He was famous for his sculptures and line drawings too

Van Gogh and Henri Matisse

We had to compare the paintings ‘Sunflowers’ and ‘La Musique’. The artists of these paintings are Vincent Van Gogh and Henri Matisse. Expressionism and Fauvism were the styles of these paintings. Van Gogh had a very depressing life and Matisse had a happier life in comparison.

The Sunflower was painted by VIncent Van Gogh. Parts of the painting look like it has light and dark shading.  Expressionism was used in this painting. But the thing is the Sunflower wasn’t blooming it looked like the plant was dying because Van Gogh’s life was very sad and miserable. That's why the sunflowers look dead. This painting makes me feel very sad.

‘La Musique’ was painted by Henri Matisse. It was of two ladies and he used very bright colours. Fauvism was the style in this painting. One of the ladies looks like she is playing the guitar and the other looks like she is enjoying the music. The colours make it look very vibrant and makes me feel very happy and lazy.

The same things in these two paintings is that there is yellow in both of the paintings and they are shaded in both the yellow parts. The differences is that the Sunflower looks very sad and dead but the La Musique looks very bright and happy. I like the La Musique because it makes me feel happy and lazy.

I think that these paintings are very good. There are lots of differences in these paintings but also similarities. Van Gogh had very good paintings but they made me feel sad. I like Henri Matisse's painting because it makes me feel very lazy and sad.

Last week we were rotating around each class to learn about art. In the classrooms we learnt about different styles, techniques, sketches and art works. We learnt about artists like Van Gogh, Matisse, Monet, Picasso and Daniella Hulme.

On Tuesday we went to Room 22 to study about Vincent Van Gogh. We had to sketch a flower, then paint it. The style of Van Gogh is he tries to make his paintings come alive. We had to paint the flower yellow then lightly paint it with a bit of red. I was trying to make my painting look as similar to Van Gogh’s as possible. Van Gogh had a special kind of brush stroke technique that blends the colours together which is very amazing.

In Room 18 we learned about Pablo Picasso. He had a unique style of painting called Cubism. He didn’t like the style that people were using so he made up his own. Picasso wondered what his paintings would look like if he changed the perspectives of his paintings. It looked very weird but it was Picasso.
