Will.I.Am

He was Poor.
His dad left his mum
East L.A
Music and arts saved his life
Science is important
Gave us $100,000.00

WOWWW Will.I.Am is coming to Pt England School. Will.I.Am is at MY SCHOOL a international star is at my school. Today is a dream come true. Mr Burt has keeped this a secret until ten minutes before Will.I.Am got to our school so it was a big surprise for our school.

I’m in the senior Kapa Haka group and we were going to perform live in front of Will.I.am. My nerves were starting to get the better of me. My mind was exploding with thoughts of me messing the actions up and the embarrassment that would follow. We were waiting in the music room for him to arrive.

I could hear the kids all cheering so I could tell that Will.I.Am was here. It was our time to go on the stage. As soon as I saw Will.I.Am I got really nervous. First we started to sing a Maori song then we did a fierce Haka. Right at the end of the haka was my only mistake but the rest was excellent. Then we walked off the stage.

Will.I.Am stood up and started to talk about his life, he lived with his mum, brothers and sisters. His dad left his mum so she raised them by herself with no job so they were really poor. He lived in a ghetto which was in East L.A. Will.I.Am said “ I was going to end up in jail but music, arts and friends litteraly saved my life” Choosing your friends was the main message from him.

My Holidays

On Thursday me and my family went to a little town called Kaeo. We are going there because my mums Cousins son died in 2005, it is his unveiling for his grave stone.

Kaeo is about a 3 and a half hours north of Auckland we drove there in my dads van. We packed the van with all of our clothes food and with blankets, pillows. WE also brought my dads fishing rods because me and him wanted to go fishing. The drive was very very boring, we stopped in Whangerei for some fish and chips then we got back in the van for a one hour drive to reach Kaeo.

When we got there we unpacked all our gear. Then we saw a cat and her kittens, they were smaller then my hand. As soon as we got into the homestead, I jumped straight on the couch. I was so hungry. I made me a nice mayonnaise ham sandwich.

The next day we went to my mums Cousins sons unveiling of his grave stone. When we got there we had to wait for five minutes, until we were allowed to come on the burial grounds. When we walked up the hill to the grave we all gathered around it, some people were crying including my mum. The heat was burning me I so badly wanted to go to the beach but my dad said “NO”.

Term 1 Reflection

At the start of the term I was not looking forward to school. My highlights for this term was catching up with my mates after the holidays and getting my netbook after it got fixed. One of my highlights for this term was playing touch with my mates at lunchtimes. I’m proud of running some of the touch drills and doing the Harlem Shake even though I got in trouble. Even though I was on daily report, there was nothing about this term that I didn’t enjoy it was pretty cool this term. I haven’t been organized this term I just went with the flow. I didn’t work to my full potential this term. Working in a group with people is what I love to do but I muck around too much. Me and my mates have the greatest ideas but we never actually go forward with them. Finally it’s the last week of the term. The holidays are only four days away, i’m planning to stay up late at night and relax all day. Unfortunately I probably won’t be allowed to relax in the holidays. I want the next term to be about war or rugby. I hated the last few topics that we learned about. Some goals for the next term is to not get into trouble and to do my work.

Triathlon

Triathlon is a three course race. The three courses were swimming, biking and running. We were doing it with room fifteen so there was a bit of competition. The Room 15 girls went first then the Room 15 boys. There class was done, now it was our classes turn. Me and my mate James were going to have a challenge I was going to be the Nissan GTR and he was going to be the Bugatti Veyron. After the girls it was our turn. We had the choice to go on a slide but most of us didn’t bring spare clothes. Instead we did star jumps instead. When we did that we had to run to the bikes. James sprinted off to the bikes and got there first he was off. I couldn’t find a helmet so I was behind him I finally got one and I was off. Unfortunately I came last because I tried to do a wheelie and got a ten second delay. I really enjoyed the triathlon but the ten second delay was pretty stupid. Hopefully next time that we do the triathlon we can swim in a pool. Doing a triathlon must be really hard especially the running that would make me tired. I'd love to do the biking though but I reckon it would still be pretty hard. When I grow up I want to run a triathlon.
