I had a great new years day with my family. I went to my Aunt's house and had a great big party. 2011 was a great year,hopefully 2012 will bring some good things for me. New Year's has always been a time for looking back to the past, and more importantly, forward to the coming year. It's a time to reflect on what has happened this year and to make some new goals for this year. I hope you had a Merry Christmas ,and a HAPPY NEW YEAR.

No Going Back

This year being a netbooker has been awesome, when I got mine I was ecstatic. I liked having a Netbook because it made me learn even more,which makes my teacher and my mum happy.


The thing I loved about having a netbook is that when my dad is using the computer I can just use my netbook to go on the Internet. Having a netbook makes my learning a whole lot better, I can do writing better then ever before. Also when I am bored at home I can just play some of my games on my netbook. Last year we had to use the Imacs to put blog post on our blog.

There is a couple of things that could be fixed, like the Internet connection because sometimes its a little slow. Sometimes when lots of kids are on the same thing the connection slips off and doesn't work. I only wish that the connection would be a little faster.

Last year my writing was very babyish, but having a netbook makes it a whole lot better. When I do a spelling mistake I can just fix it up by doing a spelling check. Having a netbook has made work a whole lot cooler. I use to hate doing writing, but now I kind of like doing it. I also have written a lot more blog posts.

2011 has been a great year, I can’t wait until I am a year 7 so I can use my netbook. If next year we had to go back to pencil and paper I will be so sad. Room 17 has been cool, I’d like to say goodbye to Donyae and Onosai, have a Merry Christmas and a happy new year.

This year CRE has been great this year. My Favorite things that we did in CRE, is when acted out as people in the bible that was cool. Sometimes I didn't want to go to CRE but when I got to CRE, I started liking it. I'm bummed that we not having CRE next year because I'm going to be a year 7.

I always thought that Miss Clarke got payed for teaching us, but she doesn't. She volunteers to teach us about the bible for free which I think is kind of cool. Thank you Miss Clarke for teaching us about the bible.

Camp Bentzon Chapter 4

Friday was the day we had to go back to Auckland. First we had to load all of the gear back on to the ferry, I was hoping that I would get a bag that had wheels but I was wrong. Then we had to take all of the rest of the food that we didn’t eat.

When all the gear was loaded on we got on to the ferry. The driver told us that there were going to be picking up other people. They were going to the mansion house, that was a famous governor lived in.

Finally we got to the bus. The ride was very boring, I fell asleep just before we went through the tunnel that is under a hill. I woke up when we went over the harbour bride. As soon as I saw the sky tower I was happy to be back in Auckland. I just couldn't wait to get home and sleep in my bed.

Athletics Day

On Wednesday we had Athletics. The sports that we compete in are shot put,100m,75m sprints,discus,javelin,softball throw and high jump. I didn’t come any think this year,but hopefully I can do better next year.

Camp Bentzone Chapter 3

As soon as we got to Camp Bentzon we had to go for a tramp up a hill, all the way to this pile of rocks. On the way up the hill I was exhausted the ground was very slippery and, we weren’t allowed to slip behind Miss Garden. When I got to the pile of rocks everyone was eating, I was so thirsty.

Rita said a speech and put her stone on the pile of rocks, when she finished we walked down to this bay and had lunch. Most of the kids starting skimming stones, Marvin was the best, he could probably make a stone bounce 8 times. But Mr Barks was one of the most consistent skimmer he would skim a stone 4 times.

After all the kids had a rest we had to go all the way back to the camp. I really didn’t like walking,but if when we get back to the camp we’re allowed to go for a swim. I was one of the last people to get back to the camp, my cabin mates were waiting for me. So I had to hurry, as soon as I got back we all went for a swim.

Camp Bentzon Chapter 2

I was waiting to go for a swim for the whole day. Finally we were allowed, but as my feet touched the water I was starting to get second thoughts about going for a swim. I thought to myself if I could get to the pontoon then I would be fine. So I took my first dip under the water and I felt a bit warmer.

When I got to the pontoon I climbed on to the steps. The pontoon was crowded with people so it was hard to get on to it. As soon as I got on I bombed off it, my splash for my bomb was huge (just joking). Now the pontoon wasn’t crowded with kids so I got on the steps easily.

We now had to head back to the beach. Everyone was quickly swimming back so they could be in the showers first, when I got there they were full. I had to wait for about 10 minutes until I could have a shower.

Camp Bentzon

I thougth that I would be good at steering the sailing boat, but I was terribly wrong. I was absolutely rubbish at sailing. When ever I was trying to steer to Typhoon the yacht we were aiming for, my boat would go the other way. I was sure that I would capsize our boat.

Then it happened, me and my partners boat capsized it all just happened in a flash. I aimed the tiller to the sail and our boat was turning around but Crusader didn’t let the rope out then whoosh a wave came and knocked us over from the side. Me and Crusader quickly jumped out of the boat as it was flipping over.

We had to back on the boat, and sail all the way back to shore it was shameful. As we got close I was relived and jumped out of the boat. I could touch the ground so I just pushed the boat back to shore. I now know that I am not good at sailing.

Kawau Island.

In one week we are, going to a island called Kawau. It is 8km off the mainland of New Zealand.

Camp Bentzon is on Kawau island, you have to go there by ferry from Workworth or from spit bay. We have to go by bus to get to Workworth then we have to get on the ferry and load all our gear on to it.

I’m looking forward to jumping off the wharf. Richard and I are going to have a legendaray bombing challenge, I am definetley going to beat him. He is being so cocky about him thinking that he is going to beat me, but it is not going to happen(I’m calling you out Richard. I will beat him.

The challengeing thing for me is going to be the burma trail I hate doing them. The last one that I did was last year and it was freaky. I didn’t know what was going to be around the corner, and if someone was going to pop out of a bush and scare me. But I am also looking forward to the burma trail I want to be the first to get to the end of it.

I can’t wait untill we get to Kawau Island. This camp sounds like it is going to really fun.

Holiday Highlight.

On Thursday me and my family went to a little town called Kaeo. We are going there because my mums Cousins son died in 2005, it is his unveiling for his grave stone.

Kaeo is about a 3 and a half hours north of Auckland we drove there in my dads van. We packed the van with all of our clothes food and with blankets, pillows. WE also brought my dads fishing rods because me and him wanted to go fishing. The drive was very very boring, we stopped in Whangerei for some fish and chips then we got back in the van for a one hour drive to reach Kaeo.

When we got there we unpacked all our gear. Then we saw a cat and her kittens, they were smaller then my hand. As soon as we got into the homestead, I jumped straight on the couch. I was so hungry. I made me a nice mayonnaise ham sandwich.

The next day we went to my mums Cousins sons unveiling of his grave stone. When we got there we had to wait for five minutes, until we were allowed to come on the burial grounds. When we walked up the hill to the grave we all gathered around it, some people were crying including my mum. The heat was burning me I so badly wanted to go to the beach but my dad said “NO”.

It was Sunday night we were getting ready to watch the All Blacks. Our family favourite when were watching the All Blacks, was watching the mighty Haka. The All Blacks had kickoff, the crowd started to countdown to the start. The All Blacks scored the first try off a set move in the line out, Tony Woodcock slid over the try line for a beautiful 5 pointer. The final score was 8-7 to the All Blacks.

Next year I hope to come back to Kaeo for another holiday.

On the 30th of September, Samoa and South Africa played against each other in the final pool game. Amongst the restless crowd, there were lots of screaming Samoan fans. It seemed that only Samoan fans turned up to watch the game. Luckily for them the score was closer than everyone thought.

The first try was scored by Brian Habana, who plays for South Africa. He dived over in the corner for his 40th test rugby try. In the last rugby world cup Brian Habana equaled with Jonah Lomu for the most Rugby World Cup tries in a whole tournament. This year he should be looking to break that record.

The Refereeing in this game was just shocking. The ref called some unbelievable calls, like sending Paul Williams off with a red card. John Smit was also sent off with a yellow card. Unsurprisingly, there were some rumours that the ref was paid by the South African team to make them win.

The final score for this game was 9-17 to South Africa. South Africa just pulled away with the win. Manu Samoa should still have their, heads up high. The score was closer then what everyone expected. Hopefully the All Blacks will avenge the Samoans in a game.

I think this game was very close and the referee for this game made a lot of bad decisions. The score could have been even closer if he didn’t make those decisions

On Monday we got our FREE books from the Buckland Beach Lion's, club. Once are year the Lion's club buys us books that we get for free. Ever since I've been at Point England, I have recieved free books from the Lion's club. The lion's club has 32 people in it they pay for our books they also do a bike race to funraise money to pay for them.

Australia vs Ireland prediction

Australia is going to be playing against Ireland,it is going to be at Eden park on Saturday the 17th of September. Kickoff will start at 8.30pm. This is going to be a very close game but I think that Australia is going to win. My prediction for this game is going to be 21-14 to Australia.

Tomorrow the rugby world cup starts. The first game is between All Blacks and Tonga. The odds are against the Tongans to win but there are a lot of good players that play for Tonga. All Blacks haven't won the world cup since 1987, I think this year the All Blacks are favorites to win the rugby world cup.This game is going to start with the All Blacks Haka and then Tonga's chant. My prediction for this game is going to be 75-7 to the All Blacks.

Badminton

Badminton is a game of concentration, and of quick movement. It takes a lot of perseverance and determination,to be really good at badminton. Sometimes you will miss but practise makes perfection.

Their are three different strikes for badminton, one of them is the backhand. To do this you need to put your thumb in the grip position then turn your wrist when you’ve done this, you have got the backhand you use this strike when the shuttle is coming at you or when its coming to your left. Then there’s the forehand it is like the backhand, but you don’t turn your wrist. You use this strike when the shuttle is coming to your right.
The way to grip is to get your thumb and put it where the logo of the company is on the racket, slide your thumb on top of it. Once you have done that you have just mastered the grip for badminton.

In badminton if you don’t have much concentration, it is going to be hard to win. Concentration helps you figure out what to do and when to hit the shuttle. I only wish that I had lots of concentration.

Badminton is one of the most exciting sports that I’ve ever played. One day you should play badminton, and experience it for yourself I tell you will be amazed about how cool it really is.

I believe that the RWC tournament would benefit New Zealand economically and socially, because we can get a lot of money from this tournament. It would make New Zealand very popular and tourists would come to watch it. The money we get can help rebuild Christchurch , and help the people that have no houses. We need a makeover for our courtyard,it is ugly. There are many reasons for this, one the ground on our courtyard is uneven. Reason two, no one ever comes and plays on our courtyard simply because it is way to small and the basketballs hoops that were up a long,long time ago. Please HELP.

Crowded conditions, usually occur when the fields are closed. When the fields are closed the breeze gets crowded with kids trying to play cards or, just walking past. It is also crowded on our biggest courtyard and it is hard to play games like touch or basketball,when lots of kids are pushing and shoving.

The ground on our courtyard is uneven. When you want to play a little game of touch on our courtyard it is hard, because the ground is uneven and there is hardly any space that we can play on. It would be a waste of space if we just left our courtyard the way it is.

Also, the courtyard is very ugly. We need to entice some builders, to come in and make us some smooth concrete. Me and my partner Crusader want some picnic tables that could be installed where the grass is.

I think that kids under 12 should be able to buy junk food. There are many reasons for this, one if a kid gets given some pocket money he/she would most likely buy junk food. Also a kid could practise spending money by buying junk food. They would be able to make their own decisions, and they would be ready for the future.

If their was a law that says children under 12 can’t buy junk food unless with a adult, some fast food outlets would lose their customers and could be shut down for not having enough money to meet their needs. Also, if children eat junk food they can get big and strong for physical sports.f

Kids can enjoy what they are eating not like when kids eat vegetables. Like when some kids aged 11 go to Hoyts they won’t be able to buy snacks, for the movie that want to watch. Even though junk food is not healthy people still buy it because it tastes great is cheap and because they like it.

I think that under 12s should still be able to buy junk food, don’t you?

The characters are the clouds,stalks and a lot of different breed of babies. This movie is set in the sky where their are lots of clouds that a alive. The first scene in this movie is when some stalks drop some babies at some houses, then they drop some Puppies off at a kennel. The main actions is when the clouds are making different kinds of babies, and then some Stalks come and take them.

Then a it shows are storm cloud who isn't the best at making the right babies he makes the more vicious babies like Crocodiles,Sharks and Electric Eels. I would rate this movie a 8 out of ten because it's a excellent movie but their are a few things the producers need to work on like better graphics and things like that.

Extreme Makeover Courtyard Edition

In room 17 we are redesigning our courtyard.

Picnic tables.

We chose this because we don't like sitting down on the deck, because lots of people drop rubbish on it. We think we need this so that we don't sit down on some think dirty, and it will look pretty cool. Me and Crusader(hes in my team) have researched the prices for a picnic table,what it looks like and how heavy its so people can't lift it to steal it.

Wooden deck.

We have researched the prices for a deck, but no one is selling a deck. Thats when I discovered, that you need a builder to make a deck. So we looked for a builder that could build us a deck,but we didn't find anyone. So if a builder that lives in Auckland New Zealand please leave a comment with your phone or mobile number and we will try and contact you.

Smooth Ground

We also want smooth concrete at our courtyard. We want smooth concrete because if someone falls over they won't get a cut,plus it will look cool. It will also be good for peoples shoes because they won't get holes in them.

Swimming

I felt very anxious about swimming. I wanted to be in the medium pool run by Miss Garden, but then she came along and said that I had to go into the large pool for the more confident people. When she said that,I thought she was joking, and laughed. But I soon realised that she wasn’t and I mumbled ‘darn it! I’m in the big pool’.

“Off you go” states Mr Marks, I push off from the wall in the pool and I’m off. I was trying to go as fast I can so no one would catch up to me. When I got to half way I stared to gasp for air, my legs started felling like they were gonna fall off. then boom I felt a big solid wall it was the end of the pool my good friend Gabriel was waiting their.

I did the slow walk to the pool and when I got their I felt the water it was so cold. As the line got shorter, it was nearly my turn hopefully I would be better then last year.

I leaped down into the water it was warm I thought someone had done a pea but no one had. I started looking under water it looked like I was in a very small ocean but as I rose I was mistaken.

Oktopodi Movie Review

The movie that I am reviewing is Oktopodi. This movie Oktopodi is set in a quiet village in Greece. In this story the characters are a Octopus couple and a chef,who is trying to take the Female Octopus to a restaurant. When the chef is driving in his little car, the male Octopus tries to save his girlfriend and he succeed. I think the main message is never give up. I would recommend this movie for all people that like animated movies.

When I was on the plane I looked outside of the plane and I saw a beautiful view of the clouds, it was just magnificent. Then the seat belt light came on and the pilot’s instructed that all electronic devices can be turned on.

When the plane landed I had very sore ears then I held my nose together and blew out then my ears popped. Then we got off the plane and headed to the taxi van, we went around Oriental bay and saw the beautiful sparkely water.

Going to Wellington part one

“It’s time to go to Wellington” my dad shouted to me. I replied “ just give me five more minutes in bed”. later on I got my uniform an I rushed into the car. We dropped my little brother off at his day care then I told my dad to drive very fast to school. As he dropped me off at the shops I bolted off to the dairy and quickly bought me a pie and drink.

I ran to the office and I saw the team of ambassadors, luckily they were all putting on their jackets. Mr Burt said us a good prayer and we headed off to his Ford Ranger, the girls went in Mrs Burt’s blue Toyota. When we got to the Airport it smelt like someone did a poo which was disgusting.

On the plane was my most fun bit I had been waiting to go onto my Netbook I wanted to play burger space it’s most exciting game on my Netbook. The two pilots said” it’s time for take off we advise that you put on your seat belt. Then they showed a safety movie which was like a 80’s aerobics movie.

Technology Challenge Part Two

First we are going to get 3 newspapers and roll them up into tubes, we will cut holes in them. We will use cello tape to tape the tubes to the table. We are going to have 3 holes in our tube. We have 10 pieces of newspaper,one meter of cello tape and obviously a marble.

I thought our plan that Kingston and crusader was terrible compared to my plan, where it would start off going to the side then going down and going to the left which would of been good. First we got 3 newspapers and rolled them up. The marble track was nearly finished, but it all fell apart right at the end. I think we should have gone with my idea.

Technology challenge

I didn’t really feel that excited about the challenge but when I saw the fun that people were having and I wanted to join in. As I got thinking I started to think of some ideas then it came to me, why do it going up then curving down when you can do it going straight down and curving at the end.

The challenge was we had to make like a tunnel so that if we put a marble down it it will go down it perfectly but the catch was the tunnel had to bend. Each group got given 6 newspapers, one meter in cello tape and obviously one marble. We were given ten minutes to complete this challenge.

My group’s idea was to make it go straight down and make it bend close to the end we used 2 newspapers to keep our tunnel’s stable. Everything was going good until the end where it wouldn't stand but then it did.

This is a introduction about the movie Fast five enjoy.

Fast Five is the best movie that I’ve ever seen it’s got fighting bits and racing bits. The most awesome part is when Brian a former federal agent and Dominic Teretto who is a global criminal, use police cars to steal 100 million dollars that is locked away in a vault. But the job is not easy they have to tie a long line to the vault and VROOM VROOM they try to pull it out of the wall with their cars and it breaks free.

Fast Five is a action/drama/comedy movie i thought it was gonna be a dumb movie but it wasn’t I really enjoyed, watching Fast Five and you should watch it for yourself. The best bit is when The Rock’s group of cop’s get ambushed by a local militia but they fight the militia back and nearly all of the rock’s group.

This term was easy and really fast - it went by before I could even say “ Done”. There were a few hard things this term but most of was pretty easy, I only had one fight this term but I came close to having two. Camp was the highlight of this term my favourite part of camp was going to swimmarama.

My favourite subject is maths people say I’m really good at it, last year my Icans test for maths got into the top 19th percent in New Zealand. I love doing maths but some of the strategies that the teacher tells me are sometimes confusing like equal addition, which is for subtraction. I came 2nd in academic for year 5 last year hopefully I can come 1st or 2nd this year which would be cool.

My three teachers are Olivia Muliaumasealii, Andrea Te’lea and my main teacher Juanita Garden they are very good teachers I like Mrs Te’lea the best because shes funny and makes things fun. I play for the school rugby team coached by Kent Sommervile, he’s the best ever coach we’ve had and this year we’re gonna win every match we play and watch out Vicount School because we’ve gone better then ever

I choose this design because I am a Maori I like being one and also I like art now.

Babies have always needed more sleep then adults, the size of a baby judges how much sleep it needs. Toddlers and children grow every time they sleep but children don’t grow as fast as Babies. Children don’t need as much sleep then babies but they need more sleep than adults. Little ones don’t do much, they only sleep and eat.

Adults need sleep so they can have a good rest. Cell’s in their body’s that are worn a replaced by new ones. When they sleep it repairs their body’s, so they can be refreshed for another day at work.

Grown ups mostly need food for energy.But kid’s also need energy from food and to make muscles and bones. Food is vital to baby’s without it they won’t have energy to run around as lots of little ones like to do between the ages of 1 and 2.

What are Hieroglyphics?

Hieroglyphics are an ancient Text that is hard to spell and say. It is two Greek words meaning secret carving, it is a picture of some think familiar like a weapon or a syllable to a word. The Egyptians used them in tombs.

The name of these marks Hieroglyphics was given thousands of years ago in Egypt. They were found in temples and Palaces. Some of these buildings are still standing today, the marks can still be seen on them.

In 1799 a huge stone called Rosetta was discovered, Hieroglyphic writing was all over it but many language experts didn’t know what it meant. Luckily someone copied a more recent Egyptian language meaning on the bottom. Greek was also under the Egyptian writing which made it easier for a French expert to understand it.

Japan Earthquake

On Friday the 11th of March their was a 8.9 Earthquake off the cost of Japan. The Earthaquake didn't cause that much distruction becaus the Japanese houses are designed to withstand Earthquakes. That wasn't the case with the Tsunami.

Their was a massive Earthquake in Japan,it created a huge Tsunami that ingolfed anythink that was in it's way. It caused thousands of people to evacuate and the others that are traped under debris are more likely to be dead because of the Tsunami. Thousands of people are probaly dead and thousands are missing.

The epicentre of the Eatrhquake was just off the coast of Japan in the Pacific ocean it was 8.9 on the Richter scale. It caused a bit of desrbut Japan have Earthquakes very often and their houses are designed for Earthquakes.

“He’s out”!!!! How to play Cricket you say?? Well first thing is you need to find some space like a field then find some friends and a cricket coach. Then the cricket coach teaches how to play cricket. After you’ve have finished you get all the gear to play cricket.

Our teacher’s name’s were Hammond and Robin they were from Auckland Cricket. When I first saw Robin I thought he was Nathan Mcullum,but he wasn’t which disappointed me because I like Nathan Mcullum. For our first lesson we had smash the ball that was on a little T.

It was time for me to have a turn, I’m really nervous but I love Cricket it’s my fourth favoritism sport behind American Football and I’m really strong so I should smash this ball away. I grab the bat look out to my opposition and BOOM!!!!! The ball goes flying into the air, I quickly dash to the cone to get some runs I end up getting six runs.

Killer Bees

This killer Insect is a cross between a Brazilian Insect and Africaninized Insect. This killer is very because it is aggressive due to the way they swarm sting and attack in large groups. If they attack in large groups it minimizes the risk of them dieing.

This mini beast has six legs because it’s a Insects. They have a hairy legs for collecting Pollen. They just put their legs on the flower the Pollen sticks to their legs. They have a segmented body it contains the Thorax,Abdomen and Head like all other Insects.

Christchurch Eartquake 2011

Yesterday afternoon their was a catastrophic earthquake that rocked Christchurch. The Prime Minister Mr John Key declared February the 22nd New Zealand’s darkest day. At the epicentre,of the quake many buildings were demolished.

As the earthquake hit their was complete chaos, people were in shock ,crying And some people had died in their cars by falling debris. Buildings collapsed on people making it very hard to get out. They even had to amputate a mans leg to get him out of debris.

A lady had her skin in her hair and blood was all over her face. A lot of adults were frighted and were in shock. I hope that all the CHCH citizens can pull through this hard time and recover really quickly. christchurch-earthquake

I was anxiously waiting to carefully unbox my new netbook. First we had to write down the serial number on a piece of paper. After writing my serial number down,my brand spanking new netbook was ready to be logged in.

Anytime and at anyplace, I can go on to my email to chat to my friends,as long as I’m in the area where the wireless Broadband can go to. I am using a netbook now and that means I am ready for the future.

It was very intriguing how a lot of teachers turned up to watch us set up our netbooks. I was confused, when the wireless Internet randomly went offline with no warning. Frustrated and confused I wanted to hit my netbook.

It’s the day before Christmas, it was Christmas Eve my Grandpa’s birthday. Today we are going to the Papakura R.S.A to celebrate my Grandpas 70th birthday.When we got to the R.S.A we were very excited but there was only one person there. My older cousin Te Ranui he was wondering where everyone was, Then at about 12:00 clock my older brother Nikora turned up with his girlfriend.

Family member after family member the whole family was just about here. We were all waiting on my grandpa to turn up. While I was waiting I was looking at the Buffet their were delicious foods like nice hot chips,Muscle chowder, Christmas Ham,some pork, Cheese cakes, chocolate fudge,trifle.

Suddenly my Koro (grandpa) waled into the door,I quickly dashed to shake his hand like I always do. With my Koro arriving my family performed a Maori welcoming,it nearly got my Koro to tears after the welcoming we performed another Maori song. “Kiarete Kiarete Kiarete” My cousin chanted, we started to do a Haka.

After all the performances we did it was time to eat,I was starving I dashed to get a plate I got me three slices of Christmas Ham,three slices of pork,some Potatoes,hot chips and finally Butter Chicken. For dessert I got me two pieces of a Cheesecake a bit of trifle then this raisin ball that I thought was chocolate but it wasn't. The birthday was good I hope we can have another celebration.

Pike River Mine Service

The Memorial Service at Omoto race course for the Pike river Miners was on tv at 2:00 clock in the afternoon on Thursday the 2nd of December 2010 I watched it. It is so sad that they haven't found the body's of the Miners, I think that the families just want to go down and get their loved ones.

Even though the mine had a second explosion I still hoped that they would still be alive but when it had a third explosion my hope slowly drifted away.The Mayor of Greymouth is such a good man he never gives up he just works,works and works.When they have their next election he should be voted Mayor if he wants to run again. I hope that all the families can be happy and that they won't be sad.

“10 year old boys’’ yells Mr Burt . My five friends Wally Lewis, Stacey Jones, Brent Tate, Kevin Locke, Jarryd Hayne and I, with all the other ten year old boys, stand on the starting line. Bang Mr Burt shoots his gun into the air, we are all off . I have come second behind my friend Kevin Locke for the last three years but today is a day for change .

I have a dream, I have a path and I have a plan. I dream that I would come 1st in the Cross Country(Martin Luther King Jr’s speech). Kevin and I were neck and neck at the start but as we got to the fence he was winning. Suddenly he put on a bit of gas and he made the margin from me and him bigger.

As we got onto one the fields at the Pt England Reserve I caught up to him and he said to me “Waata you’ve gone faster maybe you can even beat me” I replied back to him “Today’s a time for change”. Unsurprisingly he took of and I shouted “ I knew you would take off ’’ .

Later on we both got to the fence that was close to the reserve we sprinted off going past the playground I was in front of him when he tripped suddenly I stopped picking him up, He said to me “why didn’t you win the race” I said I’m not a person like that I look out for my friends”. Then my other friend Jarryd Hayne came past us. He won the Cross Country me and Kevin came second equal.

Dental Clinic Farewell

In preparation for the dental clinic being demolished a builder used a crowbar to prise off the Weatherboards. As he pulled them off they discovered a huge wasp’s nest. When we finished CRE we got to take a look at the wasp’s nest it was huge. They needed the weatherboards off so that the building was weakened so it would be easy to bust down.

With the Weatherboards taken out the building was weakened so they could finally start to demolish it. The jaws of the digger get ready to demolish the building like a lion getting ready to eat its prey. We say our final farewell’s and the dental clinic starts to be crushed .

The digger starts crushing the dental clinic, it didn’t stand a chance against the digger. Slowly it came down finally the Dental Clinic was crushed . With the Clinic crushed only a pile of rubble is left.

Goten knows it was not enough and wishes in his mind that Goku his dad was there but Goku was dead. Their was just one thing that could save them the seven Dragon balls and because Goten wished Goku was alive, he came to help them.

Goku exclaims to his two sons “that they can defeat Broly’. KAMEHAMEHAMEHAAAAA!!!!!!!!!! they all shout out loudly. Broly screams Kakarote!!!!!!!!(Goku) and smashes into little pieces.Then a beam sends Broly into space for another three years. Until then Goku has to train or he will get demolished.

Christchurch Earthquake

“ There has been an Earthquake in Christchurch,’’ my dad Yelled to my mum. On the TV we saw that rubble was all over the roads and on cars . It started at 4:30 on Saturday morning many people were still asleep , they were woken up by the shaking or smashed windows .

The damage was catastrophic. Cars were crushed by falling rubble, buildings were split into two and a wall was even completely ripped off a restaurant . There were also buckled rails and unstable buildings, which

The roads were showered with shattered glass . Sewage pipes blew their tops, because of this the roads were flooded and tap water was unsafe to drink, when you want a drink you have to boil your water for 3 minutes just in case you get a very bad sickness (don’t know what its called).

I feel very sorry for the people in Christchurch . I hope all is going well in Christchurch with the claena up. I hope the aftershocks stop so more historic buildings do not collapse because that will be very sad and a great loss to everyone .

“ Whoo its freezing “ I say to myself . I am feeling a whole lot of Adrenaline in my body,my legs are shivering but I am ready for Cross Country . Bang Mr Burt makes the clappers clap . We are off I jog trying not to stop over, I look to see who’s coming first it was Aidan .

My legs are shaking but I tell myself “don’t stop” but i slow down and walk . Half way their I catch up with my two friends Crusader and Kingston, Kingston asks us if we should sprint when we get to the playground but Crusader said why not at the fence .

Close to the fence I sprint off using all my energy I beat my friends for the second year straight . I’m really happy that Cross country is finished .

Israel Folau is a talented player that is 21 years of age. He use to play for the cheating team as everyone knows Melbourne Storm but moved to my former best team the Brisbane Broncos but plays for the almighty Queensland. His height is unbelievable for his age. His strength and shear force would be enough to stop a raging bull from running at him. He is centre which has a jar full of speed and agility. He is one of my favourite players because he always finds a way to get over the try line even if he has to step,swerve and bump his way.

Moving from the Melbourne Storm was a good idea because if he stayed with them for a little bit longer he would not have been able to compete for the title for a year. Which would of stunk badly. He is one of the centres that I admire. He is mighty and he is ISRAEL FOLAU!!!!!

If I had to draw a country on a map while on a ship it would be very hard because the ship would be rocking and I would make lots of mistakes . John Cena is one of the strongest in WWE. There is many paper-views but four main ones. First Survivor Series then the biggest party of the summer, Summerslam. A few months later it is the Royal Rumble and its every man on himself. The last one is the grand daddy of them all Wrestlmania. Thats all the WWE and you should watch it yourself. Wow !!! Lots of teachers were dressed up as famous Mariners like Pirates,James Cook,Jessica Watson, Erick The Red and Leaf Erickson. It was our Immersion Assembly the first assembly for Term3.

First Mr Burt introduced Team 1. They had a video of some Maori men Paddling in a Waka . Then the Team 1 teachers started paddling like the men in the Waka .

After Team 1 it was Team 2 s turn - Mrs She was a Pirate and Mrs Burne was James Cook . They were Negotiating over what they wanted . It was funny because the pirate was putting his sword to James Cook’s Throat.

He is the one and only Jarryd Hayne He plays for the Paramatta Eels ,New South Wales Blues Australian Kangaroos and for Fiji. He’s got awards like Rookie of the year in 2006 and Daily M award last year. Last year in the grand final against Melbourne Storm they nearly won but they lost 23-16 I reckon that took a major blow to the Eels. His positions that he can play at are winger number 5 and fullback number 1 his Major position . Hes got the best step ever once against the Dragons he steped about 4 people,fooled Darius Boyd with a dummy and scored a wonderful try . That was my review on Jarryd Hayne. It all started like this in 2007 rugby world cup. It was a Sunday I just finished having my Sunday shower I get ready for church but before church me and my family watched the quarter final between All Blacks and France.We were so excited about this match."derrr"! The ref blows his whistle then kick off.Later into the game I get bored so I go have my Breakfast Porridge it was so delicious. Then the score was 15 to the french team and 17 to the All Blacks then the french team has numbers out wide the french person passes the ball to the winger of the french but the pass was forward , the winger runs down the side line not tackled and scores the try but everyone in my family said "it was forward" And it was forward ,but the ref said try then the ALL BLACKS lost. Well that was my worst memory of the All Blacks.

KIA Ora I am here to tell you about my highlights this year as year five.My first highlight for this I am going to tell you about is year 5,6 and 7 camp, it was very fun we went to rock climbing When I got there it was astonishing their were huge climbing walls I especially wanted to climb the Empire State Building climbing wall and see how hard it was .I tried it and it was easy.

My second highlight I am going to tell you about is doing a test for EXTENSION which is a awesome group. There were three tests they were very hard but I did good enough to be in extension.

My third highlight is doing a shoe for the Rock Our World. My shoe I did was alright but other peoples shoes were better in our extension group, like my friend called Starford his shoe was cool and this other boy called Joshua his one was awesome !! And guess what, we are in a competition with other schools in the world. If we win the competition the top designer of Nike D'Wayne will sell the shoe that out best drawer drew. That was my three highlights of the year.

Camp Kindness: Day One

Today is Wednesday, the first day of camp! I was very excited.

First we went to Rock Climbing which is my favourite thing. It is so cool. When I got there I was amazed that the climbing walls were so huge. Our teacher was Mr. Barks and our team was called the Considerators.

I started my first rock climbing wall. It was pretty big. I tried it in

Jandals! It was pretty slippery. I just made it about halfway up before it got too slippery so I asked to come down.

Then I tried the King Kong climbing wall. It was pretty easy. I got three quarters of the way before my legs got too tired so I came down. I was so exhausted that I went to have my lunch.

I had cheese and ham toasted sandwiches and a chocolate muffin. After lunch we had to go to the next activity.

Capture the Flag

On Friday Room 15 and 14 played Capture the Flag, it is a tactical game . The aim of the game is to Capture your Flag but your flag is on their side so you have to get the flag without getting touched.

On our first try we all ran to the other team's side. About 5 of our team got to the other team's pocket. Starford grabbed the flag, he dashed down the sideline with people chasing for him. Starford got to the other side and we won.

We all lined up for our second try. We all sprinted to the other side. Only 4 of the other team's people made it to our pocket. Lorenzo grabbed the flag and tried to run to the other side but somebody caught him . We took the flag back to our pocket then Oshania gots the flag for our team. She sprinted down the sideline and got to the other side. We won again . The score was 2-0. We lined up again, we ran and are yelling and screaming. We got to the other side. But we got touched. I ran back to our pocket nearly getting touched then i just made it to our side. I guarded the pocket. I touched somebody then someone for our side got the flag and ran back to our side. He stepped someone and just got back to our side. Yeah we won again. The score is 3-0 At the end the score was 5-1. Room 15 WON.
