What am I?

Today in Extension we played a game called Who am I? Mrs Tele’a put a sticker on our fore heads and we had to go ask people questions on what our job was. I think some good questions to ask are, am I a man or a women, do I work with cars.

Many people think that being a zookeeper is the best job possible. You get to work with and care for zoos. What’s not to like but, there are only so many zoos in the world, and only so many zookeeper jobs. There are a few countries that even teach people to be zookeepers in University and not many zoos offer Zookeeper jobs

Netball

I don’t like netball. It’s for girls, but that's what I think. We were having netball lessons and Liz was our teacher. Our first lesson was learning how to pass to each other. The chest pass is the best one to do. You have to pass from your chest using the power from your legs to make it better.

 Then we had a lesson where we had to jump over a little hurdle, and catch the ball. It is harder then it looks, because you have to time your jump right or the ball might go straight pass you. It was easy for some people but hard for others. I caught lots of them though. Then we played a game. It was non bibs vs bibs, I was in the bibs.

 My fitness isn’t the best, but I try my best. Rugby and rugby League are my best sports. Running straight is one of my best skills because I'm big. But in netball you can’t run straight as much. You just have to run around lots. I go to this school program called K.F.C Kids Fitness Course, it really helps me lose weight.

Netball is ok but I still think its for girls. I can’t wait until we have lesson's about rugby. Rugby is the best .

My Mihi

Kia Ora, Ko Waata Taku Ingoa(Hi my name is Waata).  I am a 11 year old Maori in Pt England School. I am a Christian I go to the Grace International church in Glen Innes. The Bible is one of the symbols of Christianity I try to read some of it every night. American football is one of my favourite sports and the NFL is a competition. Going Fishing With my Dad and Brothers 2.

I was getting a lot of bites but i just couldn't hook on a fish, then finally I hooked one but it was small. My dad on the other hand was bringing in fish after fish I think my dad and brother were having a challenge. The biggest fish of the day was caught by my dad it was over 40 cm. We had a good day fishing can’t wait until we go again.

Treaty Of Waitangi.

New Zealand was ravaged with conflict, the Maori and Pakeha were having a lot of disagreements. The conflict had to end or it might turn out into a all out war, and that wouldn't be good for both the Maori and the British. William Hobson had set up a agreement called the Treaty of Waitangi.

The Treaty was a document that had some things that the British wanted to do in New Zealand. William Hobson had to get the Maori chiefs to sign their signatures, so the British crown can govern over New Zealand. The night before the 6th of February, Henry Williams,James Busby and William Hobson were discussing what should be in the treaty. We did a re-enactment of this for our class movie.

Then it was the 6th of February. Some of the Maori chiefs came to sign the treaty. Hone Heke was one of the Maori chiefs that came to the Waitangi. He was one of the first chiefs to sign the treaty. His wife was the daughter of a famous chief called Hone Hika.

The main principal was the three P’s, Participation,Protection and Partnership.       Participation means that everyone does some thing good to New Zealand. Protection is that they protect each other from bad things. Partnership means Pakeha and Maori work together as one.

Going Fishing with my Dad and My Brothers Part 1

I love fishing, me and my brothers were going fishing on our family boat. Our boat is a 18 footer,and it's name is the Sea nymph. I had to wake up early in the morning and get ready, I had a shower and got changed. Then we went to Okahu bay.

   We were going to launch out our boat at the Okahu boat ramp. When we got there these Cook Islanders were holding up a big line of boats. They didn't know how to launch their boat,then finally someone helped them.
 
 When it was our turn to launch our boat I had to hold the rope so the our boat wont drift away. My dad quickly parked the car and we were on our way. I can’t tell you where we went, because its like one of our favourite spots where we catch a bit of fish, but sometimes we can only catch like five snappers.

 My dad said” If you raise the front of the boat and then slowly bring it down you will save some gas”.  Our boat was smashing through the waves, when we got to our spot we anchored down. Both of my brothers were keen as.  As soon as we got there my brothers put some bait on their line then casted their lines out. I had to wait until my dad set me up.

This pie graph represents the fast food liking of Room 21. Most of Room 21 like Carl's Jr, personally I don't like Carl's Jr its a bit to salty but that's my opinion. I like Burger King it always tastes better with the king. The burgers are the favourite part of a combo for me. Pizza is the least favourite fast food, with only one person liking it.
